The Selvedge Files, Vol. 1
Selvedge is found everywhere, from the high-end Japanese garments at Blue in Green and Self Edge to mall brands like J. Crew and the Gap. Even though it is readily available, it is still viewed as a “premium feature” (although, as many can point out, selvedge is not an indicator of quality. It doesn’t hurt though…). It’s kind of nice to find random pieces that feature selvedge from a time where people could give two shits of what it means.
Up first is a short-sleeved shirt from Robinson’s. Me thinks this is from the department store Robinson’s, predecessor to Robinsons-May (now Macy’s).
